Dwarakamai

Community and Cultural Center

An adjacent property (1895 Grand Ave) has also been acquired and the Dwarkamai community and cultural center was established. Dwarkamai is the place where Baba lived during his 60 years of stay at Shirdi. This is the place where he lived his Divine advent and performed Leelas (Divine plays) The Dwarkamai in Baldwin will have sacred fire Dhuni with the sacred ash Udi to be distributed to devotees as token of his blessings. It will also have a life size portrait of Baba, and His portrait assumes almost a three dimensional reality with His dynamic presence in it. In one corner of Dwarkamai the grinding stone used by him will be kept covered with an iron grill. The other original items brought from Shirdi include the bricks and Padukas.

A Baba’s gift shop displaying books on Hindu religion, Satchritra books, solemn pledge from true tales of Shridi Sai Baba, video and audiocassettes, calendars and mementoes are located near the entrance hall of the Dwarkamai.

Community service activities such as free Balavikas classes, Yoga & Meditation and Bharatanatyam classes are conducted regularly at this center on Saturdays & Sundays. The response from the community of Sai devotees has been overwhelming.
